Rend Collective -A Wake Up Call

12829462_10206042736247920_6938925849133034523_o

Rend our hearts before God. When attending a Rend Collective concert, this is what came to mind. A Wake Up Call to America. It is time we examine ourselves to see if we are in the Faith. We have been a blessed country & we take for granted what freedom we have. Freedom to Worship our God with our whole hearts. Freedom to Worship in the market place, our jobs, our homes, & so many more places. But that is not the case with other countries. We must learn from what has happened to other countries who had this freedom, but now must Worship in secret. Our Country is slowly taking our freedoms away.

We are as the church in Revelations:  Rev. 3:17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked…

Let’s arise and win this nation back. Let’s rend our hearts. Pray for Revival!

Joel 2:12-13 Therefore also now, saith the Lord, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning: And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the Lord your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.

Worship is a lifestyle. Live it out today…

Rend Collective have never lacked imagination. From the bewildering array of children’s toys and whimsical, handmade oddities they call instruments, to the hare-brained and wonderfully impractical scheme of recording a live album on the beach around a campfire, to the safety-defying audacity of shooting a music video on a fully-operational fishing boat in the turbulent Irish Sea, this fascinating worship community have always pursued the colorful and unexpected.

Fittingly, the genre-blurring artists have an unusual backstory. Hailing from the small coastal town of Bangor in Northern Ireland, the Collective developed organically, outside of the influence of the music industry and CCM culture, as a self-described “group of confused twenty-somethings trying to figure out faith, life, God and community.”

They gathered at Rend, a ministry for spiritually hungry young adults, desperately seeking an authentic, raw and real expression of church, which was informally pastored by bandleader, Gareth Gilkeson. This honest and genuine movement of prayer and missions was accompanied by the birth of a new breed of worship songs that became the foundation for their first and critically acclaimed 2010 album, “Organic Family Hymnal.”

Since these formative years, the folk-influenced troubadours have, to their surprise, been thrust onto the world stage as leading voices in the evolution of modern worship. Following the 2012 release of artisanal alt-pop project, “Homemade Worship by Handmade People,” the band has gone from strength to strength. Their endearingly raucous live show has brought out thousands of fans to sold out tours on bothsides of the Atlantic, and they have shared stages with some of the biggest names in Christian music, such as Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman and Tenth Avenue North. Foot-stomping revival hymn, “Build Your Kingdom Here,” proved to be a mold-breaking hit at Christian radio and, with views numbering in the millions, the accompanying concept music video was honored with a Dove nomination.

Refreshingly, the international spotlight has little altered the heart of the Irish worshippers.

“We wanted to push boundaries because our God is not safe or small: He has a wild imagination.” Rend Collective

Charles Billingsley -The many faces of Worship

12798897_10204846673361432_4855316029815261225_n-1

Angie and I really enjoyed a very special concert at Thomas Road Baptist Church in Lynchburg VA that marked the release of Charles Billingsleys new recording “Right Here”..  More than entertainment, more than a show, more than a mere concert; this night was a worship experience that crossed all generational lines and drew believers into the very presence of Jesus..  We work with alot of artists in alot of venues and I can honestly say that I have rarely sensed the moving of the Holy Spirit as strong and powerful as we did on March 6th at this event.. You can really tell that the team there are people of prayer. God showed up!!
Watching Charles live is a blessing in itself. His vocal range is truly amazing and the connection with the audience is most powerful… If there is one thing I can say about brother Charles it is that he has a real gift and passion to lead people into the presence of God and my wife and I both said after the concert; we really did not see Charles Billingsley or TRBC as wonderful as they are, We Saw Jesus! We felt His presence among us and caught a small glimpse of what the Glory of Worship in heaven must be like..
So, to sum it all up… If you buy one worship CD this year then “Right Here” must be it…. And…. if you ever get the chance to see Charles in Concert, you won’t be sorry… This is truly music that ministers!!

“Each time I set out to create a new project it begins with prayer. I ask the Lord to give me wisdom to write songs, choose the best songs, find the perfect producers, and sing well. It’s a lengthy process that can take several months, but when I finally receive that finished master, it’s a wonderful feeling of accomplishment. Then…the work really begins. Now that the project is complete, it is my job to communicate the truth of these songs to you, the listener.” – Charles Billingsley

Right Here – A Worship Experience for All Generations – Charles Billingsley

12512325_10153909344031563_106686160149174379_n

Charles Billingsley serves as the Worship leader at Thomas Road Baptist Church, the artist-in-residence at Liberty University, and the president of Red Tie Music.  His solo ministry still takes him all over the world as he leads worship at churches, events and many conferences.

Charles is anointed to bring the body of Christ into a spirit of worship. He is a humble man who loves people & loves God. Charles has a radio spot, as well as an app, which is called “Words on Worship” which draws the listeners into living a life of worship before God.

I love the app “Words on Worship”. It is a daily reminder that we are to live a life of “worship”. Worship is truly a lifestyle. It is part of who we are in Christ Jesus. Charles encourages his listeners to truly seek God with all of your heart, soul, & mind. He shows us that worship is not just a Sunday morning thing we do. Worship is more than the songs we sing. Worship is an outward expression of an inward working of God.

Worship means simply living each day for His glory and loving Him with all our hearts. – Charles Billingsley

Charles has a new album coming out on March 4, 2016. I encourage you to get it. I have listened to the album’s title song, “Right Here”. It sure blesses me. Our days in this life can be challenging and hard at time. BUT we have an awesome Father that loves us so much and this album will draw you into that deep relationship with Him. You don’t have to go through life alone. ….for He has said, “I will never [under any circumstances] desert you [nor give you up nor leave you without support, nor will I in any degree leave you helpless], nor will I forsake or let you down or relax My hold on you [assuredly not]!” (Heb. 13:5 AMP)

“If you hear Charles sing or watch him lead worship, you know you are experiencing one of the great talents in all of the Church- but when you know him, you quickly discover his talent is no longer what blesses you.  You will be challenged by Charles passion for Christ and His kingdom.  The depth of his love for the Lord is what you will love about him!”

Ebels General Store – LIVE GOD LOUD

003

001

Beginning in 1920, the Ebels family has been operating their store in beautiful downtown Falmouth, Michigan. Chris Ebels originally started the business delivering foods and other essentials door to door in a horse drawn wagon. Since the original store, there have been 5 major renovations to make room for more retail space and to start new business ventures.

A Proud Tradition

Successive generations have operated Ebels General Store for 5 generations. Chris Ebels began the endeavor in 1920. He started by delivering goods with a horse drawn cart around the Falmouth area. In 1927 Chris moved his store building to the store’s current location with a full basement under the main floor. Chris added groceries to the hardware and implement lines during the depression. After Chris died, his son John took over the store and joined the Spartan Food Company in 1939. John’s son Harold worked for his father for many years, and in 1960 he purchased a half interest in the store. Harold became complete owner in 1965. In the fall of 1971, Harold completed an addition of the store that doubled its size. Harold also did another addition in 1978 that doubled the size of the store once again.

In the early 1980’s several national retailers moved into the area, and with them came more competition at the grocery retail level for local stores. This led Mark & Dawn to begin to diversify their services. They started to offer butchering and meat processing services. This led to processing deer and making smoked meats for customers. Mark’s smoked meats became well known around the area, and eventually demand for them led Mark & Dawn to start Little Town Jerky in 1994.

Mark & Dawn also started a catering business in the late 1980’s to further diversify their business. Many busy years of catering led to the official formation of Dawn Fresh Catering, Inc. in 2001, and the construction of a new kitchen that was completed in 2003.

In 2002, Mark’s processing had grown to the point where it needed a major expansion to maintain operations. A new butchering facility was constructed and completed in 2004. The new facility is approved and inspected daily by the United States Department of Agriculture.

Ebels General Store also is well known for their retail meat selection. The Ebels family strives to offer great quality meats at very competitive prices. On a busy Saturday there are often 10-15 people at the service meat counter to purchase their meats. Ebels Meat Department works to provide excellent customer service – be it slicing a slab of bacon from sister company Little Town Jerky, or cutting a whole New York strip loin. Besides a great meat department, the store also offers a full line of groceries, produce, frozen foods, and dairy; provided by Nash Finch Company since 2012. Nash Finch, a grocery supplier since 1904, provides Ebels with the quality private label, Our Family Brand.

Ebels also has a specialty clothing and gift department offering Men’s, Women’s, and Children’s clothing including outerwear and boots. Customers can look forward to shopping brands like Woolrich, Carhartt, Keren Hart, Stormy Kromer and Bogs footwear, to name a few.

Today, Mark & Dawn enjoy working alongside three of their children and their spouses. Mark and Dawn would like to thank the great team of associates they have been blessed with in all areas of the businesses. Many have been with the company for multiple years and through all the transitions along the way.

The Ebels family would like to thank all of their loyal customers. The Ebels Companies are dedicated to serving our Lord Jesus Christ first and foremost. We are dedicated to providing quality, value and consistency in the foods we make, products we sell and services we provide. We look forward to serving you in the future. (taken from their website)

I like that they understand the importance of community involvement. They give food and volunteer in the community as needed & they are not afraid to say they are dedicated to The Lord Jesus Christ & His Work….

At the Big Ticket Festival 2015 Ebels General Store was a big hit. The lines were long to get this great food.

Everfound – Giving Bibles with Passion

everfound

One of our passions is to get bibles into as many hands as we can. For the past 20 years we have been blessed to put bibles in 27 nations of the world. This vision was birthed in my husband Len on a sports track in Manistee MI and since that day, over 18,000 Bibles we have paid for to be distributed by Missionaries.

So I love what The Christian Group Everfound is doing. I love their story and wanted to share that with you…

Taken from their Campaign for bibles:

I remember when I first heard about how our grandmother copied parts of scripture by hand. Back in Soviet Russia, Bibles were nearly impossible to find, so she would copy parts for her kids to take once they left the house. Even though I know it’s true,I struggle to believe that. It’s just crazy to think that there are parts of the world where Bibles are still nearly impossible to obtain. Today. Right now. As I write this, I have an iPhone in my pocket with literally 12 different translations of the Bible. I have a Bible that I used this morning to do my devotions. We are so blessed – yet somewhere in Africa, there is a Christian brother or sister that desperately wants to get to know Jesus more. To learn of all the truth in God’s Word. But they can’t. They don’t have a single Bible.

This is why my brothers and I are so excited about the Mocha Club. They will provide Bibles for people who want them. I remember when we first sat down with the Mocha Club team in Franklin, TN and learned about the Bible school in Africa where pastors are trained. When these pastors graduate, they don’t have a single Bible to their name. Many of them memorize scripture. Many of them write it down, like my grandmother. But now, we can do something about it. We’re so excited to partner with Mocha Club to provide these bibles. For just $9 a month (seriously $9 a month?!) we can provide a Bible for someone desperately seeking to obtain one. We can make a difference! We’re equally excited to present this opportunity for our fans to be part of the calling to spread the good news of Jesus. We believe that, together, we can make a huge difference in leading people closer to the Truth, the Love and the Light that Jesus brings. ”

Below was taken from their story on their web page:

Before the fall of the Soviet Union, American missionaries would set up Christian radio stations along the Soviet border and transmit the Gospel into the communist territory. Religion was seen as a threat to the Soviet leadership, so the government would try to jam the frequencies. But – as it tends to do – the Gospel would still come through. People listening closely and at the right times could hear the Gospel broadcasting through the radio. Gospel songs. Sermons. Testimonies. For the three brothers of the Russian–‐born band Everfound who immigrated to Denver, Colorado when they were young children, this is part of how their parents learned about Jesus Christ. Their ancenstors’ commitment to their faith resulted in hardships that are difficult for the band, who have spent nearly their entire lives in the United States, to imagine but now serve as their primary inspiration.

Their great–‐uncle spent 20 years in prison for owning a Bible. They grew up with their dad sharing stories of how his youth group was harassed and chased by police dogs after being discovered hiding in the forest for weekly Bible studies. These stories drive the band to be bold about their faith in their artistry. Today, just one generation removed, Everfound can be heard on radio stations all over the world. They tour across the US and around the world, boldly singing the Gospel each night at full volume – without fear of prison or oppression.

Although their ancestors were not legally allowed to profess their Christian faith, Everfound has sung freely and clearly about Jesus on four independent albums, and they do so again on their major label debut with Word Records. “The fact that our music is clearly heard all around the world,” said Nikita Odnoralov, the band’s lead singer and keyboardist. “It’s truly humbling.” Although they never experienced the kind of oppression that their ancestors did at the hand of the Soviets, Everfound has been shaped by the experiences of previous generations. They know that writing songs about their faith in a free society and without fear of oppression is a privilege and not something to be taken lightly.

Their life–‐story is proof that anything is possible. They know that they have a responsibility to the generations that came before them. A responsibility to make the most of their freedom and carry the torch of faith. A responsibility to be stewards of their talents. A responsibility to look forward and chase big dreams. Although the band’s oldest member is still in his early twenties, Everfound plays like a band that has been together for decades. This is probably because they have. “We never set out to be a band, but music was in our genes,” says drummer Yan, the third oldest brother. Born in Russia and raised in the Unites States, the brothers grew up on an eclectic combination of Russian music and American bands like The Killers, 30 Seconds to Mars and Foo Fighters – giving the band a unique and dynamic sound. “We’ve been working on our live show since we were 10 years old,” adds oldest brother Ruslan. They recently rediscovered an old family movie of them when they were young kids. The three brothers were huddled around the piano, all playing together while lead singer Nikita tried to write a song. “There we were – four or five years old – fighting over the piano,” Nikita says. For the three brothers – Nikita (lead vocals/keys), Ruslan (guitar/keys), and Yan (drums) – music has always been a family affair.

Two of their grandparents worked professionally in musical theater and their parents always encouraged a love of music. “Playing piano was required in our house,” says Yan. “As soon as you turned seven, Mom would set you up with a lesson with Grandma who would give you your first piano lesson. We all took classical piano for four or five years before we learned any other instruments.” A few years later, their family attended a church that had a large youth group but no worship band. Their parents bought a few instruments – an electronic drum kit, a saxophone, a keyboard – and the brothers began playing. A little while later, they played a battle of the bands that was next door to their church. After that, they started getting calls from local churches and other bands and things slowly started to happen.

As Everfound started playing more often, they were initially not well received by the Russian–‐ American community who were not used to such bold and public displays of faith in the form of contemporary art such as rock music. “The Russian church has always been very traditional,” Nikita says. “So when we started to play music and our faith began to come out in our music, particularly outside of the church walls, we got a lot of negative feedback from other Russian Christians.” “We love the Russian church, but with them not initially embracing our music we felt that we’d become misfits within our own community,” Ruslan adds. They funneled all of this into their music and it built a new bond between the band and their fans. “When we wrote songs about those experiences, people connected to them,” Ruslan says. “People began to write us letters telling us, ‘I feel like a misfit in my class’ or ‘I’m not accepted by people in my school.’ We started to get more and more letters. God started showing us that this is what we’re supposed to be doing.” Those letters fueled the band, and they still do today. “We exist today because of those letters,” Ruslan says. “That’s the heart behind our band.” Nikita agrees. “As Christians, what do we exist for?” he asks. “Jesus said love your neighbor and love God. If those kids didn’t write those letters, we wouldn’t be here.”

As they began to see the impact God was making through their music, Everfound became inspired and adopted a tenacious work ethic. With Nikita serving as booking manager, they began booking shows anywhere and everywhere. In fact, prior to partnering with Word Entertainment, Everfound found themselves playing more than 150 shows per year and saw their influence grow quickly as they invested in their live show. “We want to provide an experience for our audience that’s impactful,” said Nikita. “We want to take them on a journey with us. That’s why we strive to give 110% every night on stage. At a show, we want our fans to feel and experience the low valleys and the high peaks that inspired our songs in the first place.” With Ruslan serving as producer, the band recorded a series of four independent albums.

Their parents – having already taken a great risk to bring the family to the United States – continued to make sacrifices in order for the band to tour, record and spread their music. By the time they signed with Word Entertainment, they were at a place where they didn’t need a record label, but they took the opportunity because it would enable the band to take their music and their message to places all over the world. All that they have accomplished so far is just preparation for what is yet to come. “If we were just trying to be famous, we would have signed with a label a long time ago,” Nikita says. “But those labels didn’t share the vision for our band. When Word came along, they got it. They let us be ourselves.” For their new self–‐titled album, they wrote 75 songs and narrowed it down to the best 12, including the lead–‐off hit single “Never beyond Repair”. “Every song on this record is about something that we’ve gone through ourselves,” says Nikita. “The struggles, the defeats, the victories, peaks, valleys and everything in between –‐ all written with the goal of reaching people with the love of Christ.” While these songs are intensely personal, they were written with a generation in mind. Everfound’s goal was to write songs that would serve as the soundtrack to people’s daily lives. They were recently involved in the hugely successful miniseries The Bible on The History Channel. Their song “What Love Means” was included on this inspired‐by soundtrack.

They played a huge kickoff event with producers Mark Burnett and Roma Downey at Rick Warren’s Saddleback Church. Afterward, Rick Warren tweeted, “Mark my word: This band is going to be HUGE!” Everfound’s family history has taken them from being imprisoned for owning a Bible to appearing on the soundtrack for a show based on the Bible. From having to hide and listen to the Gospel being illegally transmitted into the Soviet Union to now having their songs literally reaching the world with the message of God’s love. Some would chalk it up to coincidence or simple irony, but for Everfound this is a legacy and a calling to follow in their ancestors footsteps and boldly live out their faith. The brothers don’t know specifically where their next chapters will lead, but they know that the future is bigger than they can imagine.

Here is a great video – Everfound – Take This City (feat. Joel of for KING & COUNTRY) | Official Video

“SHOULDERS” By For King & Country

At first it was hard to watch this video. I almost shut it off. BUT THEN, the 2nd half really touched my heart. The Bible says:

John 16:33 …I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

God loves us so much that He has provided a way for us… We may experience things in life, BUT God is BIGGER than those things.

He says come to Him…. Everyone…. ALL & He WILL give you rest.

Matthew 11:28-30King James Version (KJV)

28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

He has BIG shoulders. He is BIGGER than sickness. He is BIGGER than loss. He is BIGGER than weakness. He carries all on His SHOULDERS….

image

image

This is part of the Chorus…
[Chorus:]
My help comes from You
You’re right here, pulling me through
You carry my weakness, my sickness, my brokenness all on Your shoulders
Your shoulders
My help comes from You
You are my rest, my rescue
I don’t have to see to believe that You’re lifting me up on Your shoulders

EVEN WHEN WE DON’T SEE HIM, HE IS NEAR…. And one TOUCH from The Master, can change your world…. THE ONLY HOPE this world has is that special touch!

image image image

More from the song…

When I’m caught deep in the valley
With chaos for my company
I’ll find my comfort here
‘Cause I know that You are near

From Joel & Luke about the video….

When it came to creating a music video for “SHOULDERS,” we knew that it had to carry as much personal and spiritual meaning as the song! We partnered once again with moviemaker and brother, Ben Smallbone (The Proof of Your Love | The Music Video) to write and produce this theatrical and heartfelt piece. After months of writing and rewriting the story, over two days of filming and countless hours refining, we’re more than thrilled to present to you the music video for our song “SHOULDERS!”
