The Newsboys United – The Cross

29342230_10209738085683683_3314696033514029056_n-2.jpg

Recently my husband and I went to The Newsboys United tour. It was one of the places we went for our 25th anniversary. We don’t always go VIP, but this time we did. What a great experience we had.

One highlight was being in the question and answer session with hundreds of other people. Every time someone got up and ask a question they also gave a testimony on how their life was changed or touched by the Newsboys music and by their daily walk with this Lord.

Music can be a powerful thing. But music with no anointing is just music. The Newsboys United Tour is more than just music. The Band truly plays for The Lord. They are very humble and thankful for what God has done in their lives.

One of the songs that still is in my head each morning when I awake is “The Cross Has The Final Word”.  They started the song out with a video of Billy Graham. He talked about The Cross and how cruel it was of all punishments. How Jesus was made fun of, mocked, beaten, and so much more. How through Jesus we can have forgiveness of sin. He could have come down off the Cross at any moment. But He stayed there for everyone. He loves you. Only through Jesus is there any hope & forgiveness of sin. Many say is there any hope for me, the drunk, prostitute, robbers, murders, people who have done evil things privately and corporately. Is there any hope for you and I? The Cross is the only way!!!!

Then the Newsboys came out and did their song. What a powerful moment. We used our cell phone and video taped it. May this video move you to a respose to Jesus and what He did at the Cross. The Cross surely has the final word!!! You can be set free today. Your life can be changed. You can be forgive. Surrender to Jesus and what He did for you in LOVE….

I hear about a lot of farewell tours but this one has me thinking a lot about life. My husband & I have had the privilege of meeting Third Day. Third Day has been around 25 years. My Husband & I are celebrating our 25th Anniversary this year. We are doing our own tour this year to celebrate our 25 yrs. It’s not final tour but it is a kick off for our next assignment from the Lord. Just like Third Day they too will have new adventures for God in their lives.

It was such a blessing for us to go to see Third Day at many concerts. The experience was more than just watch & listening to music. Third Day reaches out to those who have not received Christ & causes those who do know Christ to go deeper in their walk. They spark revival and fire in your soul.

God has used this band to bring liberty & freedom to many. Even though this is called a farewell tour, I think just like their name says, Yes it is the Third Day & Sunday is here. This is a new beginning for them and a new chapter in their lives. We will continue to pray for them and for God to continue to use them mightily in their new season of life.

So make plans today to join them in this tribute to their fans. Below is a link to more information and some live concerts.

A Band who Brings Hope: Carrollton

shelter-cover.jpg

One of our Favorite bands is Carrollton. Their new album will be coming out soon and I am so excited about it. I love this new single called “Shelter”

Just a few of the lyrics:

In the valley of the shadow where my plans turn to dust. When I am walking through the unknown in the waiting I will trust. When the sky falls, when the flood comes, let the rushing water rise. When my soul is warn and weary and I have no place to hind, I KNOW YOU WON’T LET ME GO. Fortress for my soul, my Helper, You are my Shelter. You are my HOPE, My Anchor in the storm….

This song sure brings hope to the listener. I can’t wait to be there live at one of their concerts and sing this with the rest of the body of Christ. We have been at many of Carrollton’s concerts and they truly are anointed to bring people into the presence of God. The time of worship is amazing when you feel & see the whole audience raising their hands in total surrender to what God is doing in that very moment. Lives are being changed from the inside out!

“Despair but hope, doubt but faith. Life gives us unbelievable joys and deep sorrows, yet God keeps on.The band Carrollton, tells this truth through honest, open-handed songs born of questions, wonders and struggle.”(Taken from Their website)

“The message of what we’re doing is that we believe God is with us in the good and the bad, and often in the mundane in-between” Justin says. “We’re trying to share that with people. We just want to put our hearts out there and see hope rise up.”

The Summit International School of Ministry

We had the opportunity to visit The Summit International School of Ministry near Harrisburg, PA

From the time we walked on the property until the time we left we felt that this truly is a different place.

The Summit is a bible school of Time Square Church in New York. Founded in 1994 through the ministry of David Wilkerson, we are located in Grantville, Pennsylvania on a beautiful 100-acre campus is situated near the foothills of the Blue Mountains.

They define their ministry as, “Living for the benefit of others”. We observed this first hand. We saw the students and the staff serving the meals, doing the dishes, washing windows and what ever was needed to make sure all the guest that visited were comfortable and well taken care of.

Many students gave us their testimony of how their lives have been changed by their time at the school. The students unplug all their electronic devises in order to hear The voice of God in a personal way. The students are involved in community outreaches, student led clubs, and so much more.

The Summit has a two year program and a post-graduate internship program. The Summit has articulation agreements with various Bible Schools and universities which accept their units toward the completion of a 4-year college degree. Their partnership with churches and para-churches offer a great opportunity for internship all over the world and may even led to a full time position.

For those who want to make a difference in the world this school will give you what you need to live your life, “for the benefit of others”.

It’s more than a bible school, it’s a place for transformation.

A Camp with Kingdom Impact -Thomas Road Outpost

(Picture taken from the camp)

IMG_7739.jpg

This October we were blessed with a tour of the Thomas Road Outpost Camp. This was very excited because we live in Northern Michigan and the Camp is in Lynchburg, VA and we have been giving to this project.

Before I tell you about the camp, I want to share about my camping experience. I don’t remember how old I was, but I was old enough that it made an impact on my life. But this impact was not a Kingdom impact. I was so excited to be going on this camping trip with my friends. I had some really close friends that we did everything together and this was going to be the best time, so I thought. We were going to go canoe on the Au Sable River in Michigan.

To keep this story short I will just hit the highlights. I had a leader who didn’t look out for us, instead he brought drugs to give us. Not really understanding the impact this was going to have on me, wanting to be a part of the gang, I participated. Little did I know he also had other intentions. This was horrifying and even as I write this I can’t even think of the details, even though I have been set free from my past, I have no use in giving those events another look except to use it as a stepping stone to tell you that experience was no “Kingdom Impact”. There are many children who need to be rescued from the chance of having that same experience.

That is one reason I am passionate about this camp. My husband is the other. He had a vision many years ago about a place like Thomas Road Outpost Camp. One that would give so many a great outdoor experience and reach them for the Gospel. When we visited the camp in October we took a four wheeler to the top of the mountain. Along the way we saw the cabins that are being built, the zip line area, the place they will be having outdoor survival activities, and so much more.

Thomas Road Baptist Church has been involved in camping programs for over fifty years. In March 2014 they were given 500-acre parcel of land in the midst of the Blue Ridge Parkway’s Peaks of Otter Region. It was donated to be repurposed as a youth camp with the emphasis of reaching at-rist youth from Virginia and the surrounding areas.  They also will be having Marriage seminars and other events.

Their focus is to reach thousand of children each year through Christ-centered camping experience in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. This is a place that children can leave the pressures and distractions of modern life behind and just be kids. They will experience camp life, have fun, but will be given hope and love. TRO encourages campers toward a life changing relationship with Jesus Christ.

Each year they receive thousands of requests from the area but are unable to house them due to the limited space. They have the potential to reach so many with The Gospel of Jesus, bringing hope and healing to them. So that is why I am writing this post. I am reaching out to whoever reads this to please consider giving to this worth while project. Help TRO make that “Kingdom Impact” to as many as possible. You can help change a life.

Rend Collective -A Wake Up Call

12829462_10206042736247920_6938925849133034523_o

Rend our hearts before God. When attending a Rend Collective concert, this is what came to mind. A Wake Up Call to America. It is time we examine ourselves to see if we are in the Faith. We have been a blessed country & we take for granted what freedom we have. Freedom to Worship our God with our whole hearts. Freedom to Worship in the market place, our jobs, our homes, & so many more places. But that is not the case with other countries. We must learn from what has happened to other countries who had this freedom, but now must Worship in secret. Our Country is slowly taking our freedoms away.

We are as the church in Revelations:  Rev. 3:17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked…

Let’s arise and win this nation back. Let’s rend our hearts. Pray for Revival!

Joel 2:12-13 Therefore also now, saith the Lord, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning: And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the Lord your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.

Worship is a lifestyle. Live it out today…

Rend

Taken from Their Website:

Rend Collective have never lacked imagination. From the bewildering array of children’s toys and whimsical, handmade oddities they call instruments, to the hare-brained and wonderfully impractical scheme of recording a live album on the beach around a campfire, to the safety-defying audacity of shooting a music video on a fully-operational fishing boat in the turbulent Irish Sea, this fascinating worship community have always pursued the colorful and unexpected.

Fittingly, the genre-blurring artists have an unusual backstory. Hailing from the small coastal town of Bangor in Northern Ireland, the Collective developed organically, outside of the influence of the music industry and CCM culture, as a self-described “group of confused twenty-somethings trying to figure out faith, life, God and community.”

They gathered at Rend, a ministry for spiritually hungry young adults, desperately seeking an authentic, raw and real expression of church, which was informally pastored by bandleader, Gareth Gilkeson. This honest and genuine movement of prayer and missions was accompanied by the birth of a new breed of worship songs that became the foundation for their first and critically acclaimed 2010 album, “Organic Family Hymnal.”

Since these formative years, the folk-influenced troubadours have, to their surprise, been thrust onto the world stage as leading voices in the evolution of modern worship. Following the 2012 release of artisanal alt-pop project, “Homemade Worship by Handmade People,” the band has gone from strength to strength. Their endearingly raucous live show has brought out thousands of fans to sold out tours on bothsides of the Atlantic, and they have shared stages with some of the biggest names in Christian music, such as Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman and Tenth Avenue North. Foot-stomping revival hymn, “Build Your Kingdom Here,” proved to be a mold-breaking hit at Christian radio and, with views numbering in the millions, the accompanying concept music video was honored with a Dove nomination.

Refreshingly, the international spotlight has little altered the heart of the Irish worshippers.

“We wanted to push boundaries because our God is not safe or small: He has a wild imagination.” Rend Collective
