Random Hero – A Band or A Movement

Random Hero

Recently my husband did an interview with Aaron Watkins from Random Hero. – Click Here

Random Hero is billed nationally as a positive message active rock band from Denver, CO. But, truthfully, they are so much more than that. For seven years, Random Hero has built a ministry through music. The bands foundation is firmly rooted in faith, and as such, members have dedicated themselves to bringing a clear message of hope, without being preachy or churchy, to those who otherwise may not hear it. Random Hero believes they are “musicianaries” to a world thirsty for light in the darkness. “To be light in the darkness…” (Taken from their website)

This was an inspiring interview. My husband ask Aaron how they got their name. Aaron said over the years it has developed into being used by God to become a RANDOM HERO for Him.

He went on to say that God puts us in unique situation every day whether that is to help someone, smile at them, share the Word of God with them, letting them know they are loved or just say hi.

This inspired me. You never know but that moment could change the direction of that person’s life. Maybe they were on the way home to hurt themselves or someone else. Maybe they are in that valley of descion and their contact with you was what God wanted to use to change their life.

Peter had one such moment…

Acts 3:2-7 And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple; Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms. And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us. And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them. Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.

Esther had a moment and the outcome changed a nation…

Esther 4:14 For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father’s house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?

Throughout the Bible you read about Random Heros.

It’s about answering the call as God Speaks to you.

As David did… Not in his strength…But in God’s strength.

1 Samuel 17:4 Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.

We are to imitate each other as we imitate Christ. As you live for Christ I can imitate that about your life. I can be inspired and it can change my world. – Pastor Len Paxton

I believe Random Hero Is more than a band. It’s a movement. Taking each moment and each encounter through their music to reach others for the cause of Christ.

Let’s all be Random Heros today….

As a result of this blog, this t-shirt was made. The Band presented it to me at The Big Ticket Festival 2014. So cool…

God Use Me

Lord, I look up at You today asking for the privilege of being able to seek out, what may seem to be impossible in my human flesh, just as some of my Bible heroes like Abraham and David did.

I am humbled. I realize that even at this very moment You are stretching and growing me — challenging me to look ahead and not to be afraid. You are literally shouting at me, trying to get my attention as You transform my life into a reality that is almost incomprehensible to me — yet more real than my own breathing.

I used to think, Lord, that You only used great visionaries like Billy Graham, Lester Sumrall, David, and even my own Pastor to accomplish great things. But as I stand here, I realize You can and do use even someone like me — if I am willing to be used, and if I am willing to lay down my own fears and trust You. You reminded me just now that this is how these great people got to the destination You chose for them — they listened and they allowed You to share Your vision without running and hiding.

You are reminding us that much lies ahead, and much remains for us to do — but all of it is intended to help us personally reach for the stars and to walk where no Christian has walked before.

(The prayer was taken from another blog, it is only part of it. But it fit just right with this post)
